Artist, yi yoonshin The founder of Yido, ceramic artist Yi, Yoon-shin, received her bachelor¡¯s degree at Art College of Hongik University, and her master¡¯s degree at Hongik Graduate School of Art and Kyoto City Graduate School of Art. She has held many solo and group exhibitions since her first exhibition in Japan in 1984. Through an exhibition held in Seomi Gallery, Yi, Yoon-shin and Haegangyo, Yi proposed new possibility of Goryeo celadon. Followed by Yi, Yoon-shin¡¯s exhibition, held in Yukufu Gallery in Tokyo, she broadly informed Japan of Korean ceramics; quintessential beauty equipped with international compatibility. In her latest exhibition, The Beauty of the Inimitable Ordinary, which took place in Nam Seoul National Living Art Museum in Seoul National Museum of Art, Yi conveyed artistic value intrinsic to vessels as functional pottery. In addition to that, Yi¡¯s ceramic ware was featured on Kimchi Chronicles, a TV show hosted by a prominent three star chef of Michelin, Jean-Georges.
